Does the library have ebooks? How can I access them?

Answer

Yes we have ebooks. There are three ways to search and access them.

1. The first is through the main catalog on the library webpage. eBook results from your search will show up with the word "BOOK" above the title and with the "Available Online" link below the year of publication:

To access them, click on the title or "Available Online" link, then click on the link under "Full text availability."

If you are off campus you may be prompted to log in to you Panther Portal account.

2. The second way to access eBooks is through our databases. There are two eBook databases: Ebook Central (ProQuest) and eBook Collection (Ebsco). To access them click on Databases by Subject and click on the E-Books and Online Reference link. This is will scroll down to those databases. Next click on either Ebook Central (ProQuest) or eBook Collection (Ebsco) to access the library eBooks. Again, if you are off campus you may be prompted to log in to you Panther Portal account.

3. On the Library's homepage, click on the "OverDrive" link. Here you may check out popular eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, and videos.  Material may be checked out for up to 3 weeks with a chance for renewal.  You will need to choose "Morton College" as your institution and enter your Panther Portal username and password to get started.
